Situated between The Silver Dollar and The Rarebit, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit is one of Charleston’s best kept secrets. It’s a hole in the wall, and you could blink and miss it on a sunny morning stroll on King Street, but if you do happen to pop inside you will be hit with the mesmerizing aromas of fresh country ham and butter. Callie’s has many different combinations of biscuits you can get but their three for five dollars deal is hard to beat. This morning I tried the blackberry jam filled shortbread biscuit, the cinnamon biscuit, and the country ham biscuit and they all were impeccable. If you do choose to go you must try three different kinds of biscuits or you are doing yourself an injustice.
I originally stumbled upon Callie’s a few months ago when my college roommate Taylor insisted that we make it there after a night out. The have late night hours from 10pm to 2am on the weekends but are open weekend mornings and from 7am to 2 pm during the week. Whether you’re visiting or a local, make sure to stop by and give Callie’s a visit… you won’t regret it!
